I've wanted to go to Les Brasseries Georges for a while now, but i've never really had the time or I went to places I wanted to try first. I walked past this place once and loved the interior design. It looks very regal and all you can think is, that must be good! So today I went in. Everything looked mouthwateringly delicious, so I was very impatient to try their CG.
I asked the waitress for the CG, and as usual some extra milk. she asked if maybe I would like a café noisette which was with milk and wouldn't cost extra. Already impressed with the nice service I sat down and started reading my book (huge bookworm here). It took a couple minutes longer than I'm used to so I was wondering why it took longer then usual.
After about 5 to 10 min a waiter came up and served this taste bomb.
I can tell you now that I liked all of it! So from top left to right and bottom left to right. A clafoutis with fig and strawberry on top, thick Chocolate mousse, chocolate mousse squareand last but not least raspberry sorbet.
Let's begin! My first impression was: WOW. It looks very refined and exactly something I would expect in a french brasserie.
The Clafoutis had a confit fig on top as far as I could tell from taste and a strawberry also. It was a very well made clafoutis with little bits of fruit confit. I usually don't like confit fruit, but it wasn't overpowering as I would have expected. It actually gave it a little zing that made it just right.
a bit hard to eat with a spoon though, so maybe don't order this if you want to look elegant on a date ;)
The thick chocolate mousse was, o, so delicious! on the bottom it had pastry which softened the chocolate explosion in your mouth!
God I love chocolate!
Which is why I also loved my favourite part of this CG, the chocolate mousse square. It looks quite heavy, but it was anything but that! It was sooo fluffy, like clouds! And then to my surprise, there was a little crunchy layer of speculoos between the cake bottom and the mousse! Very unexpected and very delicious! I'm dutch so anything with speculoos will do the trick. Ooo so delicious...
The raspberry sorbet was nice and light and was complimented well by the coffee.
This little gem was no cheap CG but it was definitely worth it! 8,90€ for all of this, and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed!
Until next time!
